Sibonga - A True Breath of Fresh Air

Sibonga, Cebu
Sibonga, Cebu

When I first stepped on Sibonga's town park, I immediately noticed the huge trees around. What a real breath of fresh air! I'm not sure how crowded it gets but when we went, there were only a few people so I enjoyed walking around. It's peaceful! The park is a perfect place to bond with family and friends.

About Sibonga
Info from Wikipedia

  • Third municipal income class municipality in the province of Cebu
  • Started developing the town to become more industrial while still preserving its natural bounty
  • The town fiesta on August 10 celebrates the feast of Saint Philomena
  • Home to the famous Simala-Lindogon Church or Miraculous Mama Mary Shrine

It would have been my first time to visit Simala but we skipped it during our SouthWalk. A lot of my friends and people I know have been there and they would always seem surprised when I tell them that I haven't been there yet.

Most of the tourists who visit Cebu would usually visit Simala while I haven't been there even with almost 8 years of living in Cebu. I don't know why but I often find myself not frequenting places where most people would go. Anyway, there's always a time to visit Simala in the future but for now, I'm not in a rush.

Our stopover at Sibonga was short and sweet, just quite right for us to take in the peace and calmness plus take photos. Here goes!
